My name is Grant Broeckel and I have recently went into a new direction with art this year. Previously, i had been more interested in Bob Ross style paintings of nature done in oil. However, this year i have decided to try something new. Watercolor never was my strong point, but i had seen multiple paintings done by people and was completely inspired by it. I do procrastinate on much of what i do, but i believe that this is a good thing because its how i work best. Usually crunch time gets me going and that is when i become most creative. This new style of painting i am into has allowed for this creativity to come much more naturally and often because it requires less down time waiting for it to dry. Some of my art is based off of intense feelings i get when listening to my favorite music, whether that be Rihanna, Led Zeppelin, Nickelback, Lady Gaga, and many other artists. I do also base much of my work on internal and physical disabilities that control people's life; arrogance, narcissism, claustrophobia and many other fears or impairments. Some are personal experiences and struggles instead of others' but that makes it easier to come up with ideas. I intend to major in Psychology, possibly developmental or abnormal, but either way I am fascinated by how people work and relieve stress. I plan to go to UW La Crosse in the fall and double major in both Psychology and Spanish, but will continue to take art classes in college because i enjoy it so much.
